While on The Howard Stern Show in October 2019, some very shocking news was revealed to Billie Eilish.
Billie and her brother Phineas O’Connell, who write and perform music together, appeared on the show. After performing a few of their songs, the two answered questions about their family history and background. Billie talked about growing up in Los Angeles, how she creates music , and dealing with depression. She also spoke about being home schooled and having more time to create music.
She mentioned she was looking forward to being the music guest on Saturday Night Live. As the interview was coming to an end, Billie brought in two big fans of Stern, her parents!
In all of Stern’s bluntness, he asked her parents to explain the night they conceived Billie. He teased that other parents could have successful musicians for children, if they followed their lead.
To which her mother’s response was, “Well, Billie was conceived with the existence of a fertility clinic”. It was a shock to everyone in the room, especially Billie.
Eilish’s parents also admitted that Billie was their fourth try. Stern caught on to Billie’s shock, “Billie, you look like you’re going to pass out.”
With IVF and other fertility methods growing in popularity, more and more families may begin having their own conversations regarding conception. Do you think parents should disclose IVF and other procedures to their children?
